The Pierates arrrrrrrrrre the most ruthless and swashbuckling Octopies of all the Pieland Slices. Obsessed with finding hidden treasures, these pievateers mostly spend their time hunting along the coasts. There’s a rumored Pierates Cove on a small island not far from the mainlands of Pieland, but getting there means navigating dangerous waters infested with the Kraken and Davy Jones’ Locker. The Pierates Slice shares its lands and waters with the Pielanders and Piesces, the two other seafaring factions.
Pierates can get testy about their brutish stereotype. And yet, they are often seen carrying an open bottle of rum or a weapon such as a sword or gun. Their sidekicks include pelicans, turtles, or a treasure chest, which they are quite fond to show off.
The Pierates have few friends. They often boss around the Pielanders to help them with their treasure-hunting operations. The buccaneers have great respect for the Piesces Slice, who are exceptional sea swimmers. The Pierates struggle when facing the Vampiers Slice, as the sharp-minded Vampiers often outwit them.

The Captain is the mastermind of the Pierates operation, leading the charge in trying to find buried treasures. Renowned for having a ruthless approach to leadership, this Octopie has been known to chop off a tentacle or two from an unruly subordinate. Only to then open a bottle of rum with the other Pierates right after.
